Public release statement
Cannon Family Child Care, Child Development Centers and the Youth Center are required by New Mexico to make a public release statement to the local media regarding free and reduced meals availability to the children enrolled in any of the family child care programs. Meals include breakfast, lunch and dinners during exercises.
All children in attendance will be offered the same meals with no physical segregation of, or other discriminatory action against any child because of race, color, age, national origin, sex or disability.
If you feel you have been discriminated against, write immediately to: USDA, Director, Office of Civil Rights, Room 326-W, Whitten Building, 1400 Independence Ave., SW, Washington, D.C. 20250-9410 or call (202) 720-5964 (voice and TDD). Children who are members of FDPIR food distribution program in Indian reservation or food stamp households are automatically eligible to receive free meal benefits.
Family Child Care Providers are reimbursed for meals they serve children enrolled in their daycare and must serve meals that qualify under provisions. Child Development Centers and Youth Center offer free meals and snacks to the children who are enrolled in these programs. This is to ensure the children receive good, daily nutrition to help them grow both physically and mentally. For more information, call the Family Child Care office at 784-6560 or CDC’s call 784-2704/784-6259. The Youth Center number is 784-2747.
